Mary Barra is GM’s high-profile CEO since January 2014 and is the first woman to head a major global automaker.  Barra moved through the ranks at GM, starting at age 18 as a co-op student, and performing key engineering, Global product development, supply chain and HR jobs.  She also serves on the board of Disney and has been named Fortune’s Most Powerful Woman in both 2015, 2017, and 2020.
